Overview
Hudson Mills Metropark is located just north of Dexter, Michigan, on North Territorial Road. The Huron River enters the park from the north at a large set of rapids, flows west, around an island and the hiking areas, then exits the park in the southwest. The eastern half of the park is dominated by playing fields and picnic areas. The western part of the park is a mix of wetlands and forests.
Fees
As of 2008, daily permits are $4 and annual permits are $20. Both are good at all Huron-Clinton Metropark parks.
Trails
All trails officially begin at the Activity Center in the center of the park, although there's parking everywhere and you can join the trails at any point.
There are two main trail systems identified within the park.
- A paved trail creates a single loop around the entire park, with a short spur extending along the river north of the main loop. The paved trail is popular with hikers, bikers, and in-line skaters. The trail is 6.2 km long, and shown in gray on this map.
- An interpretive nature trail, mostly within the area of the paved trail. There is also a groomed cross-country ski trail, which doubles as additional hiking trail. The total length of these trails is 8.2km.

Watersports
Kayaking and canoeing are both popular on the Huron River, which is mostly a lazy, easy to follow river. Rentals are available at many points along the river.
