Linear trail
From Trail-Finder -- Dedicated to getting you outside
A linear trail is a trail which, unlike a loop trail, just goes out and back again. Common for short trails, like a 1km trail to a waterfall, linear trails need to be hiked twice, once out and once back. For very long linear trails, parks often set up shuttle services, or contract with local companies to provide safe, predictable transportation from one end to the other. Hitchhiking is also commonly used in some areas with long, linear backpacking trails]].
